We love our tactical packs. They are rugged, tough and ready to go to war. But sometimes you may want the same great rugged toughness, but without all of the tactical bling. That is why we created the Subrosa. Actually, this is why we created the entire Stealth Operator Bag (SOB) line up. You get the same great features, build quality, and design you would expect from 3V Gear, but in a nondescript, "gray mans" pack.

The Subrosa is the perfect addition to the 3V Gear lineup. Its discreet styling and subdued tactical look make this full featured bag ideal for the user who wants a rugged backpack but also wants to blend in and not stand out in the crowd. The Subrosa comes with loads of organization, padded laptop sleeve which will hold most 15" laptops, a tablet pocket that will hold most tablets up to 10", a full clam-shell design allowing you to easily load and access all of your gear, and molded EVA foam back allows air to flow across your back when wearing the backpack.

Looking for something more tactical? Check out our best-selling Velox II Tactical Assault Pack.

Protect yourself by pairing the Subrosa with our NEW Riparo Shield - IIIA Soft Body Armor 11" x 14"

    Great backpack for EDC!!

Posted by Rey on Jun 8th 2018

If your are looking for an everyday carry backpack that is not too bulky or doesn't scream tactical but has features like the super expensive packs at a fraction of the cost? This is your bag. Look up some reviews on YouTube. Nothing but praises for the backpack. Good job 3V

    Compact and Clean

Posted by Todd Garrett on Jun 5th 2018

I'm on the road every day for work and this great little pack holds all my stuff in an organized way. When the pack arrived there was a small manufacturing defect, but when brought to 3V's attention they promptly sent me a new one at no cost. Great customer service on a smart pack.

This is my new favorite bag! Bought it back in February to replace my worn out book bag. I love the sleek look and it holds and organizes everything I need. Good work 3V!

    Good bag

Posted by Corbin on May 23rd 2018

Good bag, seems like the quality is good. Zipper pull cords are a little thin for the zippers and pulled out a couple of times, easily fixed by clamping down the opening with some needle nose pliers.

Great value in a solidly manufactured product; tough abrasion resistant fabric and functional design make it an excellent commuter bag or one to two day hiking backpack.

    Tough pack

Posted by Truman on May 7th 2018

I've been wanting a 3v gear bag for a while now to use for work. I didn't, however, need all the molle and compression straps that come on the Velox II, just a tough bag that can hold my gear and laptop while I commute 90 minutes to and from work everyday. This bag fits the bill perfectly. I've also used it on a couple of business trips and had to check it twice because of the size of the aircraft. Watched the ground crew toss it around carelessly, but it's still in perfect condition after 6 months of use.

    Perfect school bag

Posted by Sara P on Apr 30th 2018

Bought this bag for my son when I sent him off to college in the fall, he already has the Velox II but wanted something a little less conspicuous for school. The Subrosa has fit his needs perfectly all year!

    It's Okay

Posted by Christian on Apr 28th 2018

I really like the fit and feel of the bag but it needs more organization and it would be nice if the interior was lined with a lighter color to make it easier to find things in the bigger pockets.

    Perfect low key EDC bag

This is exactly what i was looking for: nondiscript backpack for EDC purposes. Didnt want a molle tactical looking bag, much too conspicuous. This bag is excellent.

This is mostly a copy/paste of the review I posted on amazon... I haven’t had my subrosa for very long now but I really like it. The pack it replaced was not very comfortable and I had it overloaded. I moved most of the contents over to the subrosa and the straps feel much better on my shoulder even at the same weight as my old pack. The main compartment is not too deep but still very generous and the “admin”compartment is well thought out. The material used in the admin compartment doesn’t feel as durable as the rest of the pack but being inside the bag it won’t see the same abuse as the outside I guess. Also the admin panel is set up to hold five pens I cut the stitches to allow one pen and made two larger pockets for a flashlight and multi tool.

    Subrosa Urban Assault Pack

Posted by Mark on Apr 13th 2018

I got this pack to replace a Velox II pack I bought three years ago. people complement me regularly on the Subrosa.. I have a job where I need a backpack preferably. This bag totally fits my needs. And I’m speaking now of the Subrosa urban assault pack. I love that it’s blacked out. I live in Los Angeles and I’m older. Too old to have a color or something that someone’s going to have a problem with. I get complemented daily on this pack and when I tell them the price their jaws hit the floor. You can’t go wrong.

    Good bag

Posted by Michael M. on Mar 23rd 2018

The wide shoulder straps disperse weight nicely, no pinch points. Fits a 15” laptop in pocket next to your back. The right amount of compartments and admin pockets. Could use Velcro inside, and a chest strap though. Very durable I’ve been using it hiking through forests with 35 pounds inside and very comfortable compared to my last pack.

    I have the Outlaw sling

Posted by Andrew S. on Mar 4th 2018

I have the outlaw sling bag and needed something a little bigger, that would fit a laptop, and a two strap. With the very poor reviews on the Velox II, I went with the Subrosa. It’s okay. Not stoked. The quality is definitely not the same as the outlaw. I love my outlaw. I just have the other needs I’m trying to fill. Might have to adventure out to another brand. We’ll see.

    Love this pack

Posted by Antonio I. on Dec 28th 2017

This is exactly the pack I've been waiting for 3V Gear to make. I have the Outlaw, and I love it, except it is a bit too tactical looking for situations where I want to be discreet. My wife bought me this bag the day that it came out and picked it up at 3V Gear's West Jordan headquarters, which was really convenient for us. I've used this pack everyday since and I couldn't be happier with it. Besides the toned down look my favorite feature on the Subrosa is the organization panel in the secondary pocket. I keep my tablet, cables, pens, a flashlight, battery charger, small notebook, and more in there and it's all easily accessible so I don't have to go hunting for anything. Great job 3V Gear!

    I really like the "gray

Posted by Zack on Oct 6th 2017

I really like the "gray man" style of the pack. The materials seem to be of good quality. There are plenty of pockets and organization on the front panel. I would like to see a couple pockets on the inside of the large compartment. Taking off 1 star because of the zipper pulls. I have lost 2 pulls due to them just coming off under normal use. I've had to use pliers to compress metal loop on the zipper so that pulls don't slide out. Maybe in the future use thicker cordige on the zipper pull.

Great edc/work pack! I'm using it for work without looking tactical. Looks and feel sturdy without breaking the bank, and it's backed by a lifetime warranty. Wished it had more color to choose from like urban grey.

Great bag for everyday. My laptop fits perfectly and there is room for anything else you might need. This bag is a good size without feeling too big or too small. My only gripe is the lack of hook and loop for off body concealed carry.

    Good Looking Backpack

Posted by Joe on Aug 11th 2017

    Pros:
I really like the practical layout and the style of the pack.
Low key with a touch of tactical on the side with the molle.
Perfect size for daily carry and can expand a little bit to hold some extra stuff.

    Cons:
My bag had frayed stitching and loose ends I had to trim off throughout the bag. (But it is $45)
Overall the bag seems sturdy and should hold up over time.

I highly recommend this bag for daily carry/edc if you are on a budget.

Water bottle pocket: I noticed some customers are suggesting a water bottle pocket. Personally I think it takes away from the clean look of the bag. If 3V gear decides to implement one I would suggest making it large enough for a nalgene, and also make it out of the same material as the bag since mesh seems to tear over time and snag easily.

    These are my honest thoughts...first

Posted by Paul N. on Jul 27th 2017

These are my honest thoughts...first and foremost, this pack looks cool, like, it’s actually really cool lookin. It’s weird to say that, but the second I put it on I was kinda stoked on the profile. I’ve been using it strictly for school, I mean, let’s be honest, the only urban assault I’m doing with this is cruising to campus so I can pretend to learn. That being said, this pack quite literally has all the amenities one would need if one was say, a 35 year old PoliSci major. Did I mention how cool it looks? If I didn’t I apologize, I also really dig the straps, the only bummer is there’s nowhere to put Velcro patches that say funny things. But that’s inconsequential when you should really be doing your homework instead of playing fallout.

    Can't knock it.

Posted by Jason W. on Jun 26th 2017

So I had this backpack for about a month before I gave it away to my buddy in college. Not because I didn't like the bag, really just because I bought it to have a smaller option for commuting on my motorcycle, but found that I prefer the versatility of my Velox II over the compact design of this pack.
The first couple of things that stood out:
-Same durable, no nonsense design as the field support series. The zippers, stitching, and fabric are all clearly defiant against wear.
-In the case of this backpack, simplicity is it's greatest strength. Perfect for someone looking to store a laptop, papers, and some writing utensils. I'll probably pick up another one for myself when I attend college next fall.
-It doesn't have water bottle pouches, but rather MOLLE up the sides which could easily hold a water bottle attachment.

If I were to lay down any complaints about this piece, it would be on the laptop pouch. Not something specific to 3V gear either. Almost every "laptop" backpack seems to treat the padded laptop pouch as an afterthought. I personally am a big fan of a very thick laptop pouch with a reinforced/padded bottom for when the bag is sitting on the ground. For this reason alone I feel it's only fair to give 4 stars. Keep in mind though, it's simple, lightweight, and highly durable. And it has a lifetime warranty from a trustworthy company dedicated to keeping customers happy. I think most of the 3V gear fans out there are buying this backpack because it's 3V gear, not because they want a bulletproof laptop sack.

Overall for 45 bucks, this product is more than worth it. Just be aware you can't chuck it around with a laptop inside. Not a big deal.

    New EDC bag

Posted by Marc J. on Apr 13th 2017

This bag is awesome. I carry so much in it from laptops to tablets and it doesn't get too bulky. I love the middle pocket and the amount you can store. Having a laptop slot along with a separate tablet slot is awesome for a 9.7" tablet. The molle lining is great for those who want a little extra or just to make the bag their own. Great quality, breathable material, I already know should anything happen to this bag it's only being replaced with another one of these.
