Nice bag with great durability. Use primarily for monthly Boy Scout camping trips. Handles the wear and tear and is great layout for keeping all the gear and organized. Makes you want to schedule more camp outs just to use the bag.
Awesome 👌 product, good quality, also Kirk is really nice, small company 👌 😀. James D'Arcangelo
Absolutely love this backpack seems very well made lots of storage and was able to mount a machete and shockwave scabbard on each side of it it holds up very well.
I bought two of the Peratus Operator's packs (one for me and one for my daughter) and they far exceeded my expectations! Strapping our 20F sleeping bags to the bottom outside of the pack, we were able pack for a 3 to 4 day wilderness hike with no problems. The build quality of our bags were equal to a much more expensive backpack. There's even room for armor plating if you're feeling unsure about the surroundings!
Overall great pack with lots of variation and adaptability. I really rate this a 4.5, but there are three areas that would make if absolutely perfect.
1. The stitching on the upper MOLLE is not even. The outer loops are not big enough (1") to thread MOLLE straps(or 1" webbing straps) through and the inner loops are too big. This makes the mounting area less useful and secure.
2. The waist band needs to be longer. It's OK for use with light clothing, but is too short for use over heavy clothing or equipment. An extender was required.
3. Adding several lines of MOLLE loop to the back panels of each compartment would be nice for adding internal pouches to organize gear.
Originally gave this pack a 4 but it has graduated to a 5 after completing what we at camp call hell week during opening Firearms Deer Season in my State. It easily can handle at least 60lbs of gear and equipment. It was rained on, snowed on, thrown, dropped, hoisted up to tree stands, muddy, landed on by me, used as a sandbag for shotgun support, and there is a pocket or location for everything from food to ammo. And I must say this pack is by far the most comfortable I have ever used! I am 6'1" and the pack fits me perfect in my lower back. Thank you Folks at 3V gear for making an outstanding product! Hell if the Marines would have had these in the early 80s we grunts would have never taken them off.
I have only used my new Paratus 3-Day Operator's pack once since buying it. Overall, I think it's a very good, versatile pack that can be used in many ways. The only thing I'd change is the waist belt. When I opened the package and started configuring the pack for my use, the waist belt just would not sinch down snugly. Now, I had added a pouch to each side of the belt which put extra weight on the belt, but it would loosen up on me every time I tightened it. I think the problem was with the UTX clip that did not hold/grip the nylon belt. My fix was to replce the belt with a US Milspec belt and UTX clip. It now works fine.
Plenty of room for everything. Very configurable. Good quality materials.
Great pack and I appreciate the fact that you thinking of the consumer
The bag is beautifully constructed awesome looks. Design is another thing. The bag cannot handle weight above 80lbs. The straps slip they don't hold the weight really well. The distribution isn't that great, all my weight is focused in the middle in the main bag. But I could only do 3 miles before it became super uncomfortable. I'll lessen the weight to see if it's better but I'm kinda disappointed.
