HOW-TO GUIDE: 5 BEST PLACES TO LIVE (WHEN SOCIETY BEGINS TO COLLAPSE)

It is important to consider the best places to live in the event of a societal collapse, to consider what are the best climates and areas to keep you and your family safe. It is important to know what you are looking for when determining if the area will be sustainable for survival.

When considering a relocation there are many factors to consider when selecting the best area for efficient survival. You will want to look for areas with low population and low risk for natural disasters; this can be helped by avoiding coastlines and faults. You should also select an area with high game population for hunting, a running water source, and good fertile land to prosper growth. Also, consider looking for areas with low population density and cost of living as well.

Here are five of the best places in the world to live based on the amount of assets they provide for surviving societal collapse and the end of the world as we know it.

Idaho Panhandle

Although still within the United States, Idaho may prove to be a good choice for surviving a societal downfall. The area is abundant in wildlife, running water, edible plants and has expansive land for creating safe housing and growing fresh produce. It’s probable to survive in this area, due to all the natural resources that are provided.

This area has lower property tax and cost, but it also has stable gun laws and a low cost of living making it suitable for dire conditions requiring immediate relocation.

Iceland

Unlike its name implies, Iceland is not covered in ice but in a number of valuable survivalist resources to make living out the end of the world a bit easier. It’s an isolated island with hundreds of miles of water surrounding it, making for a safe place to set up camp. Iceland’s position makes it difficult for intruders or invaders to come and take over, meaning that you and your family should be safe with only staying warm to worry.

Iceland has a low population density and has the necessary resources, fresh water, seafood, and fertile land to build crops.

Northern Arizona

Northern Arizona is unlike Southern Arizona as it is lush and green, not dry, and covered in desert as far as the eye can see. Northern Arizona has lower population density as the larger cities are down south. Although surprising, this part of Arizona does not reach temperatures as high, therefore making it a pleasant and sustainable potential new habitat.

There is also farming areas to make crops and raise your own livestock, if necessary. Northern Arizona also has more natural resources including, freshwater, game, and some fishing.

Yukon

Yukon, Canada is sporadically populated but it is believed that in the event of an economic or societal collapse small communities could still continue to thrive. The area is rich in natural beauty and wildlife. There are lots of rivers to be used as an asset for food, water, and hygiene. There is an abundance in wildlife making it easier to find food and pelts for warmth.

The Yukon does however present some challenges, the winters are brutal and frigid, not ideal for outdoor living unless you have a four-sided structure to keep you warm with plenty of pelts and firewood to keep temperatures up.

The Appalachian Mountains

Another United States location, but one rich in resources and beauty that fits on a postcard. The Appalachian Mountains are a site that everyone should see, whether it’s an assured survivalist or city folk just getting their footing.

The Appalachian Mountains, located in Eastern Kentucky, are most likely the safest place to live East of the Mississippi. Unlike Western Kentucky that is known to be a popular area for earthquakes, making it unstable and no good for sustainable survival. The Appalachian Mountains however provided great natural protection from natural disasters and intruders.

There is also space to grow crops, fish from the rivers and have a sustainable life away from the eastern coastline, safe and sound.

Where to Now?

Although society has not collapsed as of yet it’s important to consider the possibility and to ensure that you and your family are ready to take on anything. Readying your family for a societal collapse is crucial as it could happen sooner rather than later and being prepared puts you ahead of the rest.

When considering relocation as an option be sure to fully research the area. Be sure to note the number of natural resources and the amount of protection it provides, also; is it accessible to others? Is it in a high-risk area for natural disasters?

Be sure that the area you select will keep you and your family safe, secluded and surviving.
